This is a lovely original painting in oils after Van Gogh's iconic painting of Sunflowers. This is one of a series which he made to impress Gauguin who was on his way to stay with him in Arles. This particular version is remarkable for the happier colours he used and it shows the great expectations Van Gogh had to be able to work along side an artist he greatly admired.
